AIS Prevention

The TSLPOA and its resident members and supporters are very proud of our AQUATIC INVASIVE SPECIES PREVENTION PROGRAM.

From the Wisconsin DNR website:
  • Invasive plants, animals and pests are taking a toll on Wisconsin’s lakes, rivers and landscapes.
  • The WDNR is working with citizens and partners to slow the spread of invasive species.
  • Through educational outreach, strategic planning and active management we are protecting our environment and economy from invasives.
As a service of our AISPP, all boats arriving at the public landing are recorded and inspected by volunteers before launching.
Our volunteers will complete an interview form the results of which will be submitted to the WDNR.
If a boat is coming from another lake or shows any plant or animal debris on the boat hull or trailer, the boat and trailer need to be cleaned before launching. This is the best method we have to insure that invasive species are not transferred from an infected lake to ours.
We thank you all for your cooperation. You can volunteer to monitor boats entering our lake to assist in fighting AI
Anyone can donate to defer the cost of this program. This donation is tax deductible.
